About the farm

Boy and Girl Farm, located in Monroe, North Carolina, is owned and operated by a young couple named Joe and Amy. We love a hard day’s work and being able to enjoy the fruits of our labor. We have several years of experience in sustainable small scale farming. Throughout the long growing season, we grow a large variety of vegetables and herbs. We are passionate about tending to the land as best as we can and are always learning more about the importance of healthy soil. Healing begins from the ground up and we feel very honored to be able to work with nature and allow growth and health to be a part of our everyday.

You can find our fresh produce for sale every Saturday from 9am-noon at the Waxhaw Farmer's Market located in downtown Waxhaw at the corner of Price and North Church St and at the Cotswold Farmer's Market every Saturday from 8-noon located at 309 S Sharon Amity in Charlotte. You can also find our produce in several local restaurants around the Charlotte area. Buy local!

Sign up for our 2016 spring/summer CSA Season is now full. Thank you for all who is participating.

CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a great way for farmers to off-set the upfront costs of farming. It is a partnership between farmer and consumer, sharing in the season's harvest. Boy and Girl Farm offers a 20 Week Summer CSA Membership, and a 10 Week Fall CSA Membership.

Our 20 Week Summer Season begins in April or May. Our full-share membership costs $600 and our half-share membership costs $300. Full-share members receive produce every week for 20 consecutive weeks. Half-share members receive produce every other week for 20 weeks. You can look forward to around $30 worth of produce in each week's harvest. To avoid waste, we provide enough to last at least one week for a family of four or two weeks for smaller families.

Our 10 Week Fall Season begins in September or October and runs for 10 consecutive weeks, costing $300.

All pick-ups are either on Tuesdays at our farm between 1-6pm or Saturdays at the Waxhaw Farmer's Market between 9-1pm.

We sell our produce to area Restaurants and Chefs making deliveries on Wednesdays and Thursdays each week. We typically sell from April through January. If you are a Chef and would like to receive weekly availability lists, please email boyandgirlfarm@gmail.com, we'd love to hear from you. We enjoy working with Chef's and love seeing them turn our beautiful produce into tasty dishes.

Growing practices

We use sustainable growing methods here at Boy and Girl Farm. We do not use any synthetic pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, or fungicides.

We plant only non-gmo seed.

We leave the soil in better condition than when we start growing on it.

We eat our own food and preserve a lot for the winter. We want to eat safe food and therefore want to provide safe food for our community.
